Fees
Greece Schengen visa fee from the UAE and the xVisa price
What you pay for a Greece visa from the UAE is three separate amounts, paid to three different parties — and we never fold them into one number.
- AutoBooking watches Dubai and Abu Dhabi and takes the first date that fits — how soon depends on when VFS releases dates, which is why the live appointment status sits at the top of this page.
- The Embassy's UAE checklist asks you to allow 21 calendar days for processing; the legal standard is 15 days, and it can take longer if the consulate asks for more documents or calls you for an interview.
- Apply at least 15 days before you fly — in practice much earlier. EU rules let you apply up to six months ahead, and Greek summer dates go fast.
- Schengen visa fee
- €90
- Children aged 6 to 12 pay €45, and children under 6 pay nothing.
- Set by the Schengen states in euro and collected in local currency by the visa centre on the consulate's behalf.
- VFS Global service charge
- Varies by centre and is added by the centre itself, separately from the visa fee.

Appointments
Greece visa appointment in Dubai or Abu Dhabi — getting a date
The Greek summer is booked in spring: from April, searches for Greece appointments in the UAE climb steeply, and VFS often answers with a waitlist rather than dates. Released dates do not wait around. Instead of logging in to the VFS portal for two centres every few hours, let AutoBooking keep watch on Dubai and Abu Dhabi and grab the first date that works for your trip — then we confirm it with you.
Where to apply
The Greek Embassy, VFS Global and when Greece is your main destination
Many UAE residents search for the "Greek embassy in Abu Dhabi" or the "Greek consulate in Dubai", but for most short-stay applicants neither is where you go. The consular office of the Embassy of Greece in Abu Dhabi has handed application collection and fingerprinting to VFS Global, and you can lodge at either VFS centre — Dubai or Abu Dhabi. The consular office then decides. Apply to Greece when it is your main destination — where most of your nights will be or, if the nights split evenly, the first Schengen country you enter. This is the Greece route of our Schengen visa from the UAE service.
When Greece is the right country
8 nights between Athens and the islands, then 3 in Rome: apply to Greece. 4 nights in Milan and 4 in Athens, flying Dubai–Milan: apply to Italy, the country of first entry. An application lodged with the wrong country for your itinerary can be turned down.
Who applies here
Residents of the UAE who hold a passport that needs a Schengen visa — Indian, Pakistani, Filipino, Egyptian and many more. UAE citizens do not need a visa for a short stay; they will need an ETIAS travel authorisation once that system launches.

Abu Dhabi — VFS Global

Types of visa
Greece short-stay visa types and purpose of travel
Almost everyone travelling from the UAE applies for a Greece short-stay (Type C) Schengen visa. The purpose you choose decides the extra documents; the appointment itself is the same.
Tourism and visiting family or friends
A holiday, island-hopping or a stay with relatives: a full itinerary, or your host's signed invitation letter.
Business
Meetings, trade fairs or conferences: an invitation from the Greek company, authority or organiser.
Medical treatment
Confirmation from the Greek hospital or clinic, plus proof you can pay for the treatment.
Culture, sport, religious events and film crews
An invitation from the organiser confirming your participation.
Short courses, study visits and internships
An enrolment certificate or student card for the course.
Seafarers and airport transit
Joining a ship in Greece, or changing planes at a Greek airport on a passport that needs an airport transit visa: seafarer documents, or your onward ticket and the visa for your final destination.
Documents
Greece visa requirements and documents for UAE residents
For a Greece Schengen visa from the UAE you need a passport issued within the last 10 years, a UAE residence permit valid for 3 months beyond your stay, the online application form in English or Greek, one 3.5 × 4 cm photo, travel medical insurance with at least €30,000 cover, a return flight reservation, proof of accommodation and three months of bank statements stamped by your bank — plus the papers for your job and the purpose of your trip.
- Passport valid for 3+ months after you leave the Schengen area, issued within the last 10 years, with at least 2 consecutive blank pages — plus copies of the data page and any previous Schengen visas (and of your old passport if the current one is new)
- UAE residence permit valid for 3 months or more beyond the day you leave the Schengen area, plus a copy (GCC citizens: a UAE ID card valid for the same period)
- Application form completed online in English or Greek and signed — handwritten forms are not accepted
- One colour photo, no older than 6 months, 3.5 × 4 cm, white background, face fully visible
- Travel medical insurance valid in all Schengen states for the whole trip, with at least €30,000 cover — bring the insurance certificate, not the card or the full policy
- Return flight reservation that matches the dates in your application
- Proof of accommodation: hotel booking, rental or ownership of property in Greece, or the inviting company's confirmation that it covers your stay
- Bank statements for the last 3 months, originally stamped by the bank — internet printouts are not accepted; payslips or an international credit card with its statements can support them
- If employed: original employer letter with your position, contract length and salary, plus a copy of the company's trade licence. If self-employed: your valid original trade licence
- For the purpose of the trip: a full itinerary for tourism; an invitation letter for business or a private visit
- Children under 18: birth certificate, the form and a consent letter signed by both parents or legal guardians in front of the VFS officer, and copies of both parents' passports
- Sponsored by a spouse or travelling as a family: marriage certificate attested by the issuing country's embassy and the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs; a sponsoring spouse adds a passport copy and an undertaking letter
Common mistakes
- Printing statements from online banking. The Greek checklist asks for statements originally stamped by the bank; internet extracts are turned away.
- Forgetting the trade licence. Employees need the employer letter and a copy of the company's trade licence; self-employed applicants need their own original licence.
- An unattested marriage certificate. If your spouse sponsors you, the certificate must be attested by the issuing country's embassy and then by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
- A residence permit that runs out too soon. It must outlast your trip by at least 3 months — renew first if it is close.
- Picking a country for its appointments. Apply to your main destination, not to whichever consulate has dates; an application lodged with the wrong country can be turned down.
- Watching one centre only. Dubai and Abu Dhabi lodge with the same Embassy, so the earlier date wins — we compare both.
