If you live in the UK and hold a passport that needs one, you apply for a short-stay (Type C) Croatia Schengen visa through VFS Global — Croatia's visa application partner in the UK — and the Croatian consulate in London makes the decision. Croatia has been a full Schengen member since 1 January 2023, so the visa is a standard uniform Schengen visa.

Fees
Croatia Schengen visa fee from the UK & xVisa price
Your Croatia visa cost is the government fee plus any VFS Global charge, with the xVisa service on top for booking your appointment and preparing your file. Pricing is the same for everyone — you pay for the work and the appointment, never for "priority".
VFS Global service charge (varies).
Appointment — AutoBooking takes the earliest VFS slot across London, Manchester and Edinburgh — median ~4 days from request to a booked appointment.
Decision — a short-stay Croatia Schengen visa is usually decided within about 15 calendar days of your appointment, and can run longer in peak season or if the consulate asks for more documents.
Travel — you can apply up to 6 months before travel. Apply early: Croatia slots in the UK thin out before summer.
Three separate amounts. The government fee is set by Croatia and collected at the VFS centre together with VFS Global's own service charge; the xVisa fee covers our work. They are never bundled into a single figure.

- Prepare complete, error-checked Croatia applications.
- Show real, data-based wait times — including "monitoring / no dates" when that's the truth.

- Claim to influence the Croatian consulate's decision.
- Guarantee a visa or a specific appointment date.
xVisa is an independent visa assistance service operated by TREVOR PHILIPS LTD · Registered in England & Wales · Company no. 14986978 · VAT GB465562175. Not affiliated with VFS Global or the Croatian consulate, and not a government body.

Types of visa
Types of Croatia Schengen visa & purpose of visit
Most travellers from the UK apply for a short-stay (Type C) Croatia Schengen visa. Which one fits depends on your purpose of visit — the documents and cover letter change accordingly, and xVisa tailors your checklist to the right type.
Tourism.
A holiday on the Dalmatian coast, the islands or the cities — itinerary, accommodation and proof of funds.
Business.
Meetings, conferences or events in Croatia — plus an invitation from the Croatian company.
Visiting family & friends.
A host in Croatia — plus an invitation and, where the consulate requires it, a verified letter of guarantee.
Documents
Croatia visa requirements & documents (from the UK)
A Croatia Schengen visa from the UK needs a valid passport, proof of UK residence, the Schengen application form, travel medical insurance with at least €30,000 cover, a Schengen-spec photo, a return itinerary, confirmed accommodation in Croatia and proof of funds; a cover letter is recommended.
- Passport valid 3+ months beyond your return date, with 2 blank pages.
- Proof of UK residence (BRP / visa) valid 3+ months beyond return.
- Completed Schengen visa application form.
- Schengen-spec photo.
- Travel medical insurance (min €30,000 cover).
- Return flight itinerary.
- Proof of funds (bank statements).
- Employment / study proof, where relevant.
- Confirmed accommodation in Croatiahotel booking, or, for a private stay, the host's details. If you're staying with family or friends, the consulate may want a verified letter of guarantee (jamstveno pismo) rather than a plain invitation.
- Cover letter with your Croatia itinerarywhere you're going (e.g. Zagreb, Split, Dubrovnik) and the dates.
- Proof of onward/return travelconsistent with your main-destination claim, since the visa must be requested from the country of most nights / first entry.
- Fees and any government charge are settled in eurosCroatia adopted the euro on 1 January 2023.
Common mistakes when applying for Croatia from the UK
- Applying to the wrong country. A common one for a multi-country trip: request the visa from your main destination (most nights) or first entry, not just "the easiest embassy". If Croatia is where you'll spend the most time, apply for Croatia.
- Assuming a British passport means no paperwork for everyone. Visa need follows your passport, not your UK residence — a household can mix visa-exempt and visa-national travellers.
- Leaving it until spring. Croatia slots in the UK tighten before the summer season; apply up to six months ahead.
- A weak accommodation or guarantee document. For family/friends visits, an informal invitation is often not enough — check whether a verified letter of guarantee is required.
- Insurance that doesn't meet the €30,000 Schengen minimum or doesn't cover the full trip.
- Passport too close to expiry or without two blank pages.
